About us

MORINOGAKKO is a place where people of various backgrounds come together to “learn from the forest,” fostering a connection with nature, including trees, grass, water, birds, and animals.

Offers a variety of activities

Let’s all go outside!

Children, their parents, individuals in the midst of their careers, seniors, people with disabilities, middle school, high school, and university students—all together, let’s enjoy the ‘Learn from the Forest’ events.

Diverse Experiences

The Morinogakko, situated in the nature-rich city of Sendai and its surroundings, offers activities for experiencing nature, including nature observation, trekking, nordic skiing, snowshoe hikes, cycling, and camping.

Learning through Play

Even though it’s called a school, there’s no studying involved. Step outside and feel the wind! Nature will teach us important lessons.

Director

Norifumi Suzuta

At Olivetti, I learned IT and Italian design. At Toppan Printing, I handle products centered around color, learning about creating things based on the knowledge and techniques of color.

As my lifelong pursuit, I engage in nature photography near Sendai, with a theme of “coexistence of humans and nature.” I regularly present photographs and videos on the internet, television, and in photo exhibitions. In November 2015, I established the non-profit organization Morinogakko.

Affiliated organizations include WWF Japan, the Wild Bird Society of Japan, the Japan Alpine Club, Associazione Italo-Giapponese, and Getty.
